El Jalapeño is a family business. It was established in 2006 by Francisco Duran. During that time he was working construction and drove through the town and got the crazy idea to turn what used to be The Snack Shack into El Jalapeño. Where he came up with that name, we aren’t sure. Himself, Lupe and one waitress opened the doors for business on July 3rd, 2006. Since then, we have been able to expand and grow the business. We are so thankful that he took a leap of faith on this little town and the restaurant. Since opening in 2006 the town of Haskell and its people have become our family and home away from home. Our hope is to keep our father’s dream alive and let our customers feel like family while enjoying delicious food.
